1. What We Collect
We collect the following personal data when you use CalledIt: your email address (used for authentication via OTP), your first name, last name, and display handle, your predictions and event participation history, payment data processed securely via Stripe (we do not store card details), and device information including push notification tokens for delivering notifications. We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve the service.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to: provide the CalledIt service including predictions, leaderboards, and event participation; display your handle and ranking on public leaderboards within events; send push notifications about events, markets, and results; perform analytics to improve the platform experience; and provide customer support when you contact us. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling purposes.
3. Data Sharing
We share data only with essential service providers required to operate the platform. Stripe processes payments securely and receives only the data necessary to complete transactions. Expo (by the React Native team) delivers push notifications using your device token. Sentry provides error tracking to help us fix bugs and improve reliability. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. All service providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
4. Cookies
CalledIt uses minimal cookies strictly for maintaining your authentication session on the web platform. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies. No cookie consent banner is required as our cookies are limited to essential functionality only.
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights: Right of Access -- you can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. Right to Rectification -- you can request correction of inaccurate personal data. Right to Erasure -- you can request deletion of your account and personal data. Right to Data Portability -- you can request your data in a machine-readable format. Right to Object -- you can object to processing of your personal data. 6. Data Retention and Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time directly in the CalledIt mobile app under Settings > Delete Account. Deletion takes effect immediately and requires no email or support request. When you delete your account, your personal data -- name, email address, handle, profile, push notification tokens, and any in-app notifications -- is removed immediately and cannot be recovered. Your past predictions, event participation records, and points totals are retained in an anonymized form. They are no longer linked to you, your name, or your email, and cannot be used to identify you. We retain this anonymized data so that scoring, leaderboards, and parimutuel point distributions for past events remain accurate and fair for the other participants you played alongside. Payment records may be retained in an anonymized form as required by financial regulations and tax law. Anonymized analytics data that cannot be linked back to you may also be retained indefinitely to help us improve the platform. After deletion, you are free to sign up again with the same email address; doing so creates a brand-new account with no connection to your previous activity.
